Dot was born in Richmond, Virginia and enjoyed riding horses over the beautiful countryside. She had some art instruction in her youth from well~known artist, Theresa Pollak, founder of the Virginia Commonwealth University Art School in Richmond.
Later, Dot moved to Winston~Salm, North Carolina, and gives much credit to Daphne Chipman, her instructor in Winston~Salem, for her development in Acrylic~Landscape painting. "I enjoy sharing with others, the feeling of faith and freedom during my childhood that comes through these beautiful landscapes".
